The Price in Kashmir for activities are very inflated, if you are not a good bargainer Kashmir is not for you

Kashmir is known for it’s beauty, also called Heaven on earth but there is less known side of Kashmir which people do not know, If you are travelling kashmir for the first time then you are at right place to know how and where can you bargain. Let’s start one by one.

Where you can Bargain in Kashmir

• Boots Accessories
• Cab in sormarg
• Sledges and Snowbikes
• Shikara

Bargaining rates for Boots and Accessories

When you reach Gulmarg or Sonmarg you will require Boots and jacket in snow, even if there is snowfall as snow will penetrate in your normal shoes and they will get wet for whole trip, also get waterproof fur based socks in snowy places.

Asking price: 500-800
Actual price: 150-200(including boots and thermal jacket)

Note: The price also depends on quality of Jacket, if they are average do not give more than the bragain price mentioned above.

Cabs bargain

In kashmir you will hear this word often ‘Union’, you need to take union cabs from Tangmarg to reach Gulmarg, Sonmarg and Pahalgam, for Gulmarg and Pahalgam the price is fixed but for Sonmarg you need to Bargain

Asking price in Sonmarg: 4500, Bargain price: 2000

Note: Union cabs from Tanmarg to Gulmarg will only be required if you are travelling from Traveller or Bus or there is heavy snowfall is going on, otherwise personal cars or taxi like Sedan or XUV can go directly to Gulmarg.

Sledges and Snowbikes

Asking price for Snowbikes: 2500-3000

Bargain price: not more than 1100

Asking price for Sledge: 1000-1200

Bargain price: 150-200

Restaurant

Try going to restaurant which suits you or someone recommended otherwise driver will take you to the place where he has commission and price will be very high and you will get no taste

For pure veg restaurants in srinagar, you can go to Lakshmi Dhaba at Ghat no 11 or Krishna vaishnav dhaba for tasty and affordable food.

Shikara

For Shikara ride they will charge you around 3000-4000 and tell you they will take you to this point that point but the actual price for Shikara is 1000-1200 for 1 hour.
