The Vande Bharat train from Katra to Kashmir is scheduled to begin service on February 17, 2025, according to a News18 story.
It is anticipated that the eagerly anticipated Vande Bharat train, which would connect the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra (SVDK) station in Jammu and Srinagar, Kashmir, will begin service this month.
According to reports, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the Sangaldan-Riyasi route from Katra.
The Vande Bharat service would run directly between Katra and Srinagar after the commencement.
The Katra-Banihal rail route recently underwent a successful trial run by Indian Railways.
As a result, the Vande Bharat train would be the third of its kind in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and the first semi-high-speed service in the Kashmir Valley.
With the launch of this service, passengers will be able to travel by rail from New Delhi to Srinagar with ease.
According to reports, the Vande Bharat train, which runs in the Northern Railway (NR) zone, will have an orange and brown color scheme.
Three train schedules, including the Vande Bharat service, have also been released by Indian Railways.
With the new service, travelers will only need three hours to get from Katra to Srinagar.
The cost of the trip’s tickets has not yet been decided.
