Kashmir is known as the paradise on earth and who don’t want to visit Kashmir once in his/her life if reaching Kashmir becomes easy, this came as relief when Northern railway gave hope that there will be direct train from Delhi to Srinagar but as per latest update you need to reboard train at Katra and then you can leave for Srinagar
Why this decision has been taken
Keeping Security in Mind government has taken this decision to have Katra as a security check point for travellers, also the Vande bharat from Katra to Srinagar has been designed keeping in mind the climatic condition of the Kashmir region
What are the security check-in requirement
The government has not provided details officially, but you have to carry Aadhar passport and a voter ID card for identity proof. There will be a luggage scan again at Katra when you board train for Srinagar
